For the past month 2d Platoon of 42d Engineer Company has been busy building climbing nets, swings, and a sandbox. Children in the Kreuzberg area of the city are getting a new playground at the Rheimers Hofgarten, 84 Yorck Strasse. "We've hauled 20 truckloads of bricks and rubble from here in the past couple of weeks," said SSG John Stoops of the 42d Engineers. After Army officials met with Kreuzberg District Mayor Rudi Pietschker, the engineers moved in. Stoops added, "This is the first time we've worked with rough timberts....we're used to bringing in the finished materials and just putting it together"
